Friedens continues to grow and opens a fourth location on 103rd and Fond du Lac. Zion Rock is our newest food pantry, and is open on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings.
Friedens opened a second south side food pantry location. Hope House is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Friedens opened a food pantry on the South side of Milwaukee. Despensa de la Paz, which means “Pantry of Peace” in Spanish. Despensa continues to grow, and has been open every Saturday since it’s opening.
Friedens opened it’s first food pantry in the Marcia P. Coggs Center on 12th and Vliet. The Coggs pantry has been open ever since, and continues to serve the area’s community Monday through Friday.
Friedens Community Ministries began delivering “Stock Boxes” to elderly residents. The boxes were supplied by the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).
Incorporated as Friedens Inner City Ministries (a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation), the name was later changed to Friedens Community Ministries.
A system of small buses called “Elder Care” that transported the elderly to and from basic services was formed under Friedens Church.
